Parallax: A Quester's Companion
|
Parallax is a blog that warmly invites you to explore spirituality in unique ways. According to dictionary.com, parallax is "the apparent displacement of an observed object due to the change in the position of the observer." As the author, Tai Woodville, is quite capable of leading you gently into new perspectives for contemplation.
Emergence of the Psychic has little to do with psychic abilities; rather, the word psychic in this instance refers to the soul. This book provides an overview of the process of the soul's evolution and how it eventually emergences from the depths of the being to govern our lives. A.S. Dalal has brilliantly compiled the mystical writings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother on this subject. The words from these masters will not only resonate with deep truth in your being, but hold transformative energies for you as well! Highly recommended!!!

"Shamanism is the oldest living path of spirituality and healing, dating back tens of thousands of years, yet many people don't know what it is or are confused about the practice. In The Hollow Bone, shaman, teacher, and author Colleen Deatsman unveils the mysterious world of Shamanism as it is still practiced today all around the world. Deatsman explains that shamanism is not a religion with a doctrine, dogma, or holy book. Rather, it is a spirituality rooted in the idea that all matter has consciousness and that accessing the spirit in all things is part of what keeps the world in balance and individuals healed and whole. The Hollow Bone examines shamanism's history, its core beliefs, and how it is practiced all around the world. It includes a glossary of terms, resources for finding and working with shamanic teachers, and over two dozen rare photographs and illustrations showing the magnificent range of shamanic tools, rituals, practitioners, and traditions. This comprehensive introduction answers many frequently asked questions such as: * What is shamanism? * Where is it practiced? * What are the beliefs and understandings inherent to shamanism? * Who are the shamans? * What do shamans do? * Can anyone train to be a shaman? * Where can I learn more?" Soul: It's Nature, Mission and Evolution In my opinion, this is the definitive work on the nature of the soul, why we are here and the spiritual evolutionary process. Not only does the book contain truths about these all important subjects, but it holds a higher vibrational energy that is palpable. A.S. Dalal has edited and compiled teachings from Sri Aurobindo and the Mother in several different works. This is only one of them. More works will likely be added later. What I have read rings a truth in the depths of the being and resonates deeply with the heart. Amazon Link Here! Moonheart
My favorite fiction books come from Charles de Lint. There are so many reasons! Putting aside the great writing, he has a deep understanding of the Spirit World and of the beings that inhabit that world. His writing is infused with respect for the life of the Spirit World, and for the teachings of indigenous masters. There are also multiple lessons generously sprinkled through his books (though not done in a way that makes them feel like lessons), sometimes overtly and sometimes between the lines. Moonheart is one of my favorites. Amazon Link Here! |
